Blog Music Party Week: Time Warp, Baby

I love how songs can transport you in time. Today they're taking me to 1996-2003, when I was in junior high and high school. And there are SO MANY awesome (and awful) songs to choose from! Here's some of the best:

1. Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden. This was popular right about when I had my first boyfriend, so I'm sure that we slow-danced to this song.

2. Macarena by Los Del Rio. Ok, so my generation didn't have anything awesome like Thriller, but this was our version.

3. I Wanna Love You Forever by Jessica Simpson. Heck yes. Back when the girl actually SANG. Well, she oversang a little, but at least she didn't just moan and whisper like she does now. I first saw her when I watched Oprah one day randomly (I don't usually). And she rocked. Then she got a boyfriend/husband, got all hung up on being sexy and sucked it big time. These were the good times.

4. In the End by Linkin Park. Yes, I went through a massive Linkin Park phase when I was about 14 and decided I was angry. And you have to admit, Linkin Park makes great I-am-so-mad-at-my-parents-so-I-am-going-to-slam-my-door-and-blast-this-song-so-they-know-just-how-mad-I-am music. Sorry, Mom and Dad!

5. Say My Name by Destiny's Child. I also went through a DC phase. I love the sass in this song. Listened to this a lot after my first boyfriend went from Truly Madly Deeply to a cheater.

6. My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion. I dressed up as Rose for Halloween in 7th grade. I think that explains it all.

7. MmmBop by Hanson. This was the first CD I ever bought! My adventure beyond the world of cassette tapes! And I still maintain that I never found them attractive. (BTW they all have like 7 kids each now or something. Insane.)

8. As Long as You Love Me by the Backstreet Boys. I was madly in love with Howie.

Be sure to check out Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle and You Are My Fave for other awesome songs. Did you post yours today? Let me know!
