When I saw this quickie decorating project over on Honey + Fitz, I have to admit my jaw dropped. What a difference it makes to add color and pattern. And hanging art on the walls adds that finishing touch.
Though I believe this makeover had been a work in progress that got stalled for a while, I like to think of it as a great example of when you move in, or when you decide to reuse decorative items from another room in your home. You're not buying a ton of new stuff, but you're dedicating an afternoon just to styling.
She had those green chairs for an outdoor set, but you could also update chairs you own with a bright spray paint. The rug is from Ikea. The pillows on the green chairs look like Target. I love that she mixed the finishes on the frames on the back wall - the easiest way to combine art from several rooms in your home in a cohesive way.
If you can set aside half an hour this weekend, why not tackle something a little more than laundry? Move some furniture around, borrow pillows from the bedroom to use in the living room, or pull that chest or chair out of the attic. You never know where a little sprucing will get you!
P.S. I'm painting the bedroom today with the help of my BFF Laura! Check out my sneak peek of the color on my facebook page!
