Our kitchen

I was uploading photos to our "home tour" on facebook, and I realized I don't think I've ever posted the full kitchen on the blog before! You've seen the first view...

I've never really bothered to show pictures because this is the one area of the house we really don't have much of a say in, being renters and all. The kitchen is not original to the 1907 house, I believe it was added in the 70s/early 80s when the home was converted into the two units (we're on the top floor). But they did keep a pretty traditional feel in the kitchen, at least with the cabinets. No dishwasher (just us!). If I had even partial renovating power here I'd start with a tile blacksplash, butcher block countertops, and black bin pulls on the all the drawers with black handles on the doors. And I'd tear out the ugly floor and paint the wood floors underneath to match the rest of the house.

A girl can dream!  See more new house pictures on facebook.

Also, we took on a little, um, project this weekend and swapped our bedroom and office Saturday night (yeah, we know how to party). Sad about my vision for the bedroom being back at square one, but I'm loving the layout of both rooms now and I think they're going to fall into place pretty well. Will share pictures when we get some of the mess cleaned up!
