Windsor Smith

Maggie

I have a huge design crush on designer Windsor Smith. As in, I look through her portfolio and cry that I don't live in LA and can't beg her for an internship (well, I COULD, but moving and whatnot....) Unfortunately a lot of pictures of her designs (which you've probably seen in most major magazines) are very small online. So this little collection does not in any way exhaust my list of favorite Windsor Smith rooms!

Ms. Smith also has recently debuted a new project called The House of Windsor. I gather it is a showhouse that she designed, had built, and then had other designers decorate various rooms. It's been getting a lot of press lately. I'll check it out and maybe share some pictures next week.

As you can see, Ms. Smith has an amazing knack for strong masculine spaces - for some reason those are my favorites of hers. Although clearly from the second picture (I believe this was a bedroom/dressing room) she can do pure feminine spaces with just as much ease. I think the final picture is a beautiful mixture of masculine and feminine, and the kind of design that I would love to see in my home one day.

What do you think? Is my design crush warranted?

All photos from Pawley's Island Posh. She has a few more too!
