One item, two rooms: table

Time for another edition of taking one piece of furniture and showing it all styled up in two different designs. Just goes to show that a great investment piece can travel with you from home to home over the years and serve a new purpose in a new room. This time around we're working with a great console table from Room and Board. Console tables are GREAT because they are the perfect height for an entry, a bar, a place to display art or books, and can even get gussied up for a party as a buffet or favor table. They are so versatile.

If you're lucky enough to have a large defined entry or foyer, I love this look:

The wallpaper is quirky and kind of girly and really brings out the pop of blue in the chairs (these would be placed with backs flush with the walls). I love to pair stripes and florals. And the gold lamp and mirror add just a dash of glam while the table keeps everything grounded.

For a tv room or living room, I like the idea of using a console underneath a wall-mounted tv. It could hold your DVD player or stereo, or if you're fancy and have just a small unit, you could arrange books and a nice plant.

Here I went a little more neutral. This super comfy sofa is from West Elm and is great for lounging. I paired it with this vintage-style chair that has a little more edge, and a marble table to keep the room centered. A dark paint color and patterned rug keep the gray tones from feeling too cold.

Do you like this feature? I'll try to bring it around semi-regularly if you're a fan. I do like pulling them together! Which room do you prefer? Granted, one is a little more "out there" than the other, but I think it demonstrates pretty clearly the versatility of this piece!
