As a renter, I get a special thrill out of decorating bathrooms and kitchens. The possibilities! I love using neutrals in the bathroom rather than elements that will date quickly. And hidden storage is a must! For this room, I stuck with interesting but neutral large pieces (clawfoot tub, double sink console, subway tile walls) and then spiced it up with metal feather trimmed mirrors, super glamorous sconces, and fun elements like the mirrored stool and bath mat.
In a year or two when the mirrored trend is over, the stool could be swapped out for a rustic chair, lucite nesting tables, or marble table. The bath mat could be easily changed to a solid color (adding colorful towels as well). The sconces and mirrors could be switched out easily as well. I think this design will stand the test of time with simple tweaks every few years. And really, when you're gutting a bathroom, isn't that what you're hoping for?
**Subway tile and glass walk-in shower not pictured! Don't worry, it can be luxurious AND functional :)
