Great Room Project: Mid-way

The client project I've dubbed "The Great Room" has made a lot of progress since the last time I shared an update - and more changes are about to happen very quickly! Here's the last update. Two custom sectionals were delivered - we had them made at Couch here in Seattle. Both my client and I went to the store to select every detail - type of leg, back, arm, cushion, seat depth, piping (we opted for none), and fabric. I brought along my sketches and dimensions and they were able to make that happen. Every sofa there is custom made to the client's specifications. I don't like to use my clients as "guinea pigs" on vendors, but this time it was unavoidable and I was very pleased with the result. I wasn't involved with the management or delivery on this project, but my client said every step was handled professionally and everyone was friendly. I think I'll be using them again!

The fireplace surround and mantel have also been torn out, and while I was there the new stone tile was getting prepped for grout. A reclaimed wood beam will replace the old mantel. Everything is pushed into weird spots while construction happens, so pay little mind to that.

The seats are extra deep for lots of space to sprawl out and spread out when the TV comes back into the room!

Next up, the carpet will be replaced as soon as the fireplace is done (topped off with a rug that has already arrived and is waiting to be put in place!). The wood shelves will be repainted. A huge (and I mean huge) custom-built shelf is at the painters being finished and will arrive very soon. New curtains (probably custom, not having much luck with pre-made). Some more furniture and new lighting will be purchased. And we just ordered pillows from the sweet Arianna Belle and some vintage options from etsy. Can't wait to see all that together!

If it's looking a little neutral and boring right now, just you wait. These are only some of the colorful pillow fabrics we're bringing in ;)
