Our Place: Nursery

Now that Logan is 6 months old (when did that happen?!) I'm finally getting around to sharing some snaps of his nursery. I had so much fun finding things for his room that I hope will encourage his imagination and sense of adventure (and maybe cultivate a bookworm while we're at it).

Logan slept in our room until he was about 3 months old... We all sleep better now!

IKEA shelves got a little makeover.

Since we are moving to a new place, I didn't have a photographer come get pics, but most of our stuff should translate pretty seamlessly, including Logan's room. I still love all his stuff, so it'll just be a little bit rearranged without replacing much of anything. I'll be shooting the new apartment hopefully in a couple of months, so it will be fun to see how things change.

We reused the shelves, curtains, and pouf from when this room was my office.

Taken a different day so you'll see some items have wandered... These baskets are meant to hold toys but we have gray and white bins for those, so these just hide clutter!

I really loved putting together Logan's nursery and though my dream nursery would definitely include wallpaper (woes of renting), I am happy with how it turned out. And I'm excited to see how it evolves as he grows! I may already have his big-kid bed picked out....

I also have just a general new love of designing kid spaces. My favorites aren't themey (or just lightly themed), and have plenty of personality! I'm also a big believer in going budget-friendly for pieces that "expire" (ie a crib that will be used 2 or so years) and getting made-to-last pieces that can grow with him (storage, like Logan's dresser is a good example). And splurging when you just love something and have to have it (his lampshades, the Wes Anderson prints). Let me know if you're looking to create a new kid space or refresh one! Would love to chat more.
