One trend cycle that fascinates me is metal finishes. I remember when brushed nickel was all the rage, and lately it's been antique brass (which I still love). But I have also been noticing a trend in metal finishes where maybe "stainless or brass" was the major debate : exposed plumbing fixtures, now seen in matte black.
We're talking about all the stuff you see in the bathroom (or kitchen, for that matter); faucets, handles, shower heads, etc. I've been loving the super sleek, simple and graphic lines of a modern black finish, especially against time-worn classics like subway tile, marble, and wood.
As a bonus, it plays well with other metal finishes, especially brass and copper (another design lover's darling at the moment). So feel free to mix and match.
